A loving, inclusive Christian church in Greenville, SC

Preparing for Hurricane Florence

Like many of you, we are keeping an eye on Hurricane Florence. It is likely that our state and region will be dramatically impacted by this storm. We are praying for safety and protection for everyone who find themselves in its path. We as a church also want to be prepared to respond in the most appropriate ways when we hear of anyone in need.

We pray that you and your family are taking appropriate measures to be prepared for whatever impact our community may see. After the storm has passed, we will make you aware of opportunities to assist those who have been displaced or have needs that our faith community and ministries can serve. The American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) is always prepared to accept monetary donations if you would like to help now as they prepare for whatever may come in the next few days.

As a reminder, if there is ever a need to close the church campus, cancel planned church activities, or close the ARBC preschool and after school ministries, we will share that information through email, the church website, and the ARBC Facebook page. We will also add our closings to the list found on WYFF.

When determining whether to cancel activities and close the church campus, our first priority is the safety of the congregation, the children in our care, and the ARBC employees. Since so many live outside of the Augusta Road community, the preschool and after school ministries continue to follow the decisions of the Greenville County Schools. If GCS closes, our preschool and after school ministries will be closed as well. We always regret any inconvenience this may cause to the families we serve, and we appreciate your understanding that everyone’s safety must come first.

We are grateful for your participation in the life of our community of faith. Please continue to pray for all those who will be impacted by Hurricane Florence. Our ministers and staff are always available to assist you in any way that we can.
