ARBC ELEVATOR IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER
Many of you have experienced continuing difficulties with our elevator. We want you to know that we are working as efficiently as possible to resolve these issues. We are at the point that the elevator will need to remain “Out of Order” until a full repair to the central computer system can be made. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause, and we will have it back up and running as soon as possible. Until the proper repair has been made, we ask that those who usually take the elevator to the second floor please plan to use the Jones Avenue side entrance and the Vestibule entrance to the Sanctuary. Please plan to utilize the Jones Avenue street parking as well. We will do our best to have volunteers to assist you as you come in and out of the building. We are asking that all Deacons, Greeters, Ushers, and anyone else who is able and willing to offer assistance plan to help those who come to our campus who will normally need to use the elevator. Please come early on Sunday and Wednesday, and please plan to lend a hand back to their cars when our activities have concluded. Thank you for your patience as we resolve this issue. We continue to be grateful for your flexibility and understanding. We are grateful to be part of the August Road Baptist Church faith community. Jane Harrison’s CD Now available in the church office during the week and after Worship Service on Sunday’s. We are kicking off a fundraising effort for the Capital Campaign that will eventually pay for needed improvements to the HVAC systems throughout the church and renovate the fellowship hall and the CD will be a thank you gift for your donations. For every $25.00 you donate to the ARBC Capital Campaign you will receive a CD. If you donate $100.00 you can receive 4 CDs, if you donate $500.00 you can receive 20 CDs, and so forth. Please fill out an envelope designated for the Capital Campaign, drop it off at the church office, and pick up your copies of AMEN Celebrating 20 years of the music of Jane Harrison at Augusta Road Baptist Church.
Greenville Church Without Walls Coat Drive
One of our newest Augusta Road Churches United in Ministry (ARCUM) partners, Greenville Church Without Walls (GCWW), is organizing a coat drive over the next few weeks. GCWW does wonderful work ministering among the more impoverished neighborhoods in our area. This year they are working to benefit the children living in the Shemwood Crossing community. Within that one community there are 537 children and teenagers on the tenant roster living at or below the federal poverty level. GCWW is asking for new or used coats, hats, and gloves for children of all ages from the sister churches of the ARCUM community. We will be collecting these items in our office until Sunday, December 18, so that they can be distributed on Wednesday, December 21. Please consider joining with our brothers and sisters in providing warm clothing for the children in our area.
