A loving, inclusive Christian church in Greenville, SC

If you plan to visit Augusta Road Baptist Church for Sunday School, a Bible study or our Sunday worship service, we want to be sure you know what you can expect.

The first thing you can expect when you visit is to be greeted by a friendly and helpful person who will assist you in finding your way around. Our campus is big and we always have a lot going on, so if you don’t know where to start, you can always go to the church office (during the week) or the sanctuary (on Sunday morning).

Wednesday night dinner and Bible Study:

Our weekly Wednesday night dinner is held in our Fellowship Hall, which is located directly below the Sanctuary. Our Jones Avenue entrance or our Weekday Preschool entrance (see campus map here) are closest to the kitchen and Fellowship Hall.

Dinner begins at 6:00pm (cost for dinner is $3 youth/child, $6 adult, $15 family maximum – first-time visitors eat free). At 6:30pm, we’ll begin our adult Bible study, an informal time of exploration and prayer led by Rev. King. Youth Bible Study and games begin at 6:15 p.m., and our Children’s Mission Class begins at 6:30 p.m.

For those who are active in our choir, rehearsal is held Wednesday evenings at 7:15pm.

Sunday morning Sunday School and Worship:

Sunday School begins at 9:45am (some classes start right on time, and some enjoy a more leisurely start time!). Classes are primarily held in our education wing, which is located directly above the Weekday Preschool hall. The best entrances to use are either our Weekday Preschool entrance or our Lobby/Gym entrance. Click here for our campus map.

Greeters will be on campus to help direct you to the Sunday School class of your choosing. We have free coffee available beginning at 9:30am in our community room.

Worship is held in our sanctuary at 11:00am each Sunday. If you are attending worship for the first time, entrances to the sanctuary are located both at the front and back of the sanctuary building. The best entrances to use are the Jones Ave. entrance or our main sanctuary entrance at the corner of Jones and Augusta Street. Just look for the steeple and enter through the doors beneath.

There ushers will greet you, offer you an order of worship and help you to find a seat.

Our worship service is classic in format, featuring hymns, occasional choruses and some congregational participation. Our emphasis is on reverence and awareness of the presence of God that leads us to grateful praise. Our pastor and other ministers seek to present sermons that are firmly rooted in biblical truth and are relevant to the lives of contemporary worshippers. At the conclusion of the worship service, Rev. King will offer an opportunity for anyone who feels led to profess faith in Jesus Christ as his or her Savior, to express the desire to join our congregation, or to make whatever commitments you feel God leading you to make as you face a new week.

Please remain for a few moments before you leave to give those around you a chance to meet you. We want to get to know you and to help you to feel at home among us.
